The Carmel Valley: Its Hidden Jewel: with the softly spoken words from a stranger, we found a museum for every Italian motorcycle enthusiast. We originally went to Caramel for a few days of relaxation. Although, my boyfriend had gotten tickets to The Quail Motorcycle Gathering. However, it proceeded to pour during the showing of this collection of Motorcycles. Naturally, after getting soaking wet we set off to find somewhere dry to amuse ourselves. That evening, at dinner, is where we met this stranger who mentioned this museum.

Firstly, from the moment we entered this amazing place, the staff could not do enough to help us, including information about its history. Secondly, these bikes come from all over the world. Now, I have to say that I like motorcycles. However, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to gaze at them all day. Boy, I was unprepared for the amazing things I saw in this museum. Now I will pour myself a glass of our “FINE WINE” and share this information with you.

The Carmel Valley: Here’s A Place for The Whole Family

When we arrived, the museum’s first floor was filled with motorcycles, row after row. However, there were also racks and shelves lining the wall. As we wandered along, hidden treasures were tucked in among the shelves. Like, Steve McQueen’s 1931 VL Harley Davidson. Here, we found kids’ pedal cars and children’s motorcycles. These naturally reminded me of my boys, and their love of pedal cars and learning to ride their motorcycles at a young age. All the fun they brought to our entire family. Now at the fun old age of 69 years old, I found myself reliving so much of my “younger years.”

When we made it to the downstairs portion of the museum, there were magical memories from my childhood. There were cowboys and Indian figures, and Army men figure with all the equipment. Hanging from the ceiling and on shelves were different bicycles. Finally, for all the Motorcross fans there were a variety of cycles, helmets, protective clothing, and bike wraps. We could probably go back many times to see the ones we missed, due to our eyes catching something unexpected. I wonder if anyone knows who the suit with the ripped booty area belongs to?

So, if you should be traveling near the Carmel Valley, please look up the Moto Talbot Collection Motorcycle Museum on Carmel Valley Road. Firstly, you will find yourself drawn into the many different eras of motorcycles. Moreover, here is a bonus that we experienced. Mr. Talbot arrived at the museum while we were leaving and we spoke with him for a while. He is a genuinely nice man, happy to share the fruits of his many years collecting these motorcycles and more. Certainly, if you are lucky, you will relive many happy childhood memories. Of course, there may be a lot of memories from your early adulthood concealed there as well. Happy Hunting!
