All Things Going Green

All Things Going Green

All Things Going Green: is a necessity in today’s world. While most of us think of “going green” as solar, there is so much more to it than just the energy aspect. To help save our planet, we have to include a “going green” attitude in every part of our lives. However, solar energy is a great place to start. Here in California, many regulations have been passed mandating the use of solar energy. All new construction of commercial buildings must use solar as the primary energy source. As of last year, the construction of new homes will also require solar as the primary energy source.

Going Green for Energy: Alternative Methods yet there are many parts of the country where solar cannot be the primary energy source. Yet there are many other options. Windmills are a great source of energy if there is a constant breeze. Then, like some of the northern European countries, there is thermo-energy. Thermo-energy is the use of heat from under the Earth’s crust. You will find easy access to this area, where there are naturally occurring hot springs. Hydroelectric energy is another great source of energy if there is a constant supply of natural running water.

If we wish to continue surviving on this planet, then we must take care of the planet and the atmosphere. Certainly, the “Time Is Now” to start doing just that. Regardless of what some governments are saying, the proof is right before our eyes. Yes, the cycles of global warming and cooling will continue just as they have for “Millions of Years”. The difference will be if life here can survive. Because our atmosphere layers protect us from so many dangers of the universe and our Sun. Repairing, or at least not damaging any further, our Ozone layer will determine whether we live or die.

It’s Not Nice To Fool With Mother Nature!

Mother Nature will eventually fix herself, as she has always done. But that fix just might be at the expense of not only human life. But also the lives of many of the beautiful creatures that share this planet with us. We are all part of a unique ecosystem. So it really does not matter which part of the world you live in. Your particular ecosystem must be preserved. So let’s say goodbye to oil wells, fracking, plastic, styrofoam, and most importantly, human overpopulation. Since it is solely the responsibility of humans, we see the dire straits we are in today. Therefore, it is the sole responsibility of the human race to fix the problems that we have created. And we do not need to wait for our governments to start the process. We are each responsible for our actions in this amazing world that we live in.

Other Ways of Going Green

Another way to go green is to incorporate natural remedies for everyday problems. Use vinegar or lemon juice mixed with water for cleaning appliances, windows, mirrors, and countertops. Plant “natural” insect repellents around your home to keep pests away. Vinegar and lemon juice, as well as some natural “oils”, are great weed killers.  We all have access to the Internet to find natural remedies that work in our area. One of the most important pieces of going green is the use of sustainable resources, also known as renewable resources.
