It has surprised me with some of the most delicious twists on the dishes they present on the menu. With their servings of large portions; you are always welcome to take home what you cannot eat. Which for me, is always a lot. Moreover, they offer some of the most amazing Italian dishes I have ever tasted. Some you cannot mess with, but many have a magical twist of flavors. Making each dining experience a pleasure to behold.
However, being a dessert person, I could die after having one of their Crème Brûlée of pure satisfaction. All in all, this is one restaurant you should not pass by. Stop in and look at all of the smiling faces of the customers. You will not regret making a reservation. All the while, anticipate what your taste buds are going to experience.

Since I mentioned my passion for their desserts, in case you did not get the hint, Crème Brûlée is my absolute favorite. So much so that a chef in Auburn gave us his recipe. Of course, it was for a restaurant and not a family. But I was able to break it down into an amount that was just right for me. While having this recipe was amazing in itself, my mother bought me one of the torches used to caramelize the sugar topping. Yet, after getting one from this bistro, I was wondering what mine was missing.
Now, I have discovered the reason why. When eating one of their amazing Crème Brûlée’s at Bistro Don Giovanni, their chef was sweet enough when I asked him to tell me the difference. It appears that the kind of vanilla used can make all of the difference in the world. Here, I was using a very good, organic, high-quality vanilla extract. But I was advised to use a pure vanilla bean, split in half for my needs, and save the other half in a vacuum-sealed bag. Having taken his advice, I now enjoy great Crème Brûlée at home. Of course, it still tastes better when someone else makes it for you.
