With this method of immersion; you are priming your brain for quicker learning. All the while enjoying the types of shows that keep your attention. Meanwhile, sit back, relax, and enjoy a glass of Fine Wine While You Learn!

Language Learning By Immersion. What Is Your Preference?

Would you learn better by watching a movie or a series? Now that is the beauty of immersion learning. You are in charge. As for myself, I like comedy. When this site became part of our promotion, I decided to try it out for myself. Having been born in Germany. Listening to my mother’s German accent; made me want to learn the language. Certainly, German is not one of the “Romance Languages.” Frequently, when described, the term clearing one’s throat comes to mind. While I also remember in school that French; which is one of the “Romance Languages,” was referred to as speaking through your nose, since I took six years of French, certainly, I am up to the challenge of learning German.

However, after just 2 days of 15-minute watching, I must admit, I never realized that Germans had that much of a sense of humor. I find myself laughing at the particular program I choose to watch. While I have found it to be even funnier with the clearing of the throat sounds, for this endeavor, I want my focus and memory enhanced. It never hurts to enhance your learning abilities.

Benefits of Language Learning By Immersion

While schooling is our traditional method for learning a new language, studies show; that the earlier you are exposed to a second language, the easier learning becomes. Moreover, early exposure changes the brain. When we learn a language from school, our brains think in our dominant language. Which then translates what we want to say in the learned language. However, it has been shown that when children grow up speaking dual languages, the brain thinks in both languages, assigning two words for each item learned. With these methods of learning, the brain develops different pathways that are otherwise not incorporated.

However, when we are immersed in a new language, our need for quick assimilation opens those pathways in adults. While the exact mechanism is not understood, meaning we still think in our dominant language, immersion solidifies our learning like no other method.
